Eligibility Criteria

PROGRAM UPDATE:
Effective the Winter 2012 semester, the Early Childhood Educators Qualifications Upgrade Program has
been updated to include individuals working in licensed home or centre-based agencies, Ontario Early Years Centres,
Parenting and Family Literacy Centres, Head Start Programs or in publicly funded schools. Please review
the eligibility criteria carefully prior to submitting an application.
We are now accepting full-time and part-time applications for the Winter 2012 semester. Please review the application checklist included with the application. |
In order to be eligible to receive funds under the grant program, an individual must:
- Be an existing employee of a licensed home- or centre-based agency, Ontario Early Years Centres, Parenting and Family Literacy Centres, Head Start Programs or of a publicly funded school in Ontario for at least twelve months,
- Licensed home- or centre-based childcare agency
- Ontario Early Years Centres
- Parenting and Family Literacy Centres
- Head Start Programs
- Publicly funded schools
- Be enrolled in or accepted to a recognized community college in Ontario for full- or part-time studies towards an Early Childhood Education diploma,
- Disclose if he/she is receiving funding from other sources (excluding OSAP), and
- Be legally entitled to live and work in Canada.
